Visit of the members of the Alexandria Local Youth Council to ICI
CLTA is a youth organization from Alexandria, operating under a model inspired by the structure of a real local council. High school students are democratically elected and carry out their activities within roles such as mayor, deputy mayor, and various working committees. Established in 2002, CLTA stands as a strong example of civic engagement and active youth participation in community life.
On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest welcomed the members of the Local Youth Council of Alexandria (CLTA), a group of approximately 40 students.
During their visit to ICI Bucharest, the five group leaders delivered a brief presentation of the organization, highlighting their initiatives, organizational structure, and the projects they carry out within their local community. The program also included an interactive and hands-on component: students were divided into groups and participated, in rotation, both in sessions dedicated to presenting the institute’s projects and in guided tours of the research laboratories.
A key highlight of the visit was the tour of the XR (Extended Reality) laboratory, where participants had the opportunity to explore emerging technologies in virtual and augmented reality, as well as their applications in research, education, and industry.
